I've got a car! A rather old one, yes, but it runs just fine, so now I can get around during the summer. We have got a whole lot of homework that is to be turned in during the next week, and since NASA has decided to schedule the next space shuttle launch for next Thursday I've got pleanty to do. In reality I don't have time for it, but that doesn't matter - I must see it - and it is my last chance.

A few weeks ago I was at the International Office to assure myself that there wasn't any problems with my plans for the summer travelling. It turned out that FAU had decided to sign me up for 2 terms (the 2nd was the summer term from May to August)! This has luckily been fixed - I don't want to study during the summer. They must be insane or something.

They also managed to mail a letter about a party after it took place... They must have too much money on their postage account - no wonder people say that FAU = Find Another University...

After the end of the term I'm going to New York to visit one of my fellow students. The return fare to New York is $145 - I think I can just manage it - it is almost cheaper than the gas when you drive there yourself.

Space
I intended to go to Kennedy Space Center last Saturday. Friday evening when I checked their launch schedule I noticed that the "2001 Mars Odyssey" was to be launched with a Delta II that very same Saturday, so I had to change my alarm setting a bit, and to drive a little faster on the Interstate in order to get there in time. I arrived about 5-10 minutes before launch, and by coincidence I ended up at what I believe is the best view of the launch, at least when you're outside of the restricted area.

Kennedy Space Center must be in the middle of no-where, because all of a sudden the Interstate was narrowed down to 2 lanes in each direction - that seems a little narrow when you have got used to the 5-6 lanes in the Miami area ;)

Classes
I just got a surprise of my Computer Security teacher. We were supposed to get a grade based 55% on a report, and 45% on a take-home exam, but:

> Hi Michael,
> I looked at your paper when I was traveling. You did a very good job.
> Based on this and your assignments your course grade is A and you
> don't need to take the final exam.

So I got an early summer break :)
