Splicing of double braided rope seemed like a mystery to me. But after looking at a few youtube videos, I realized it is actually pretty easy!

To start you need some suitable double braided rope. Note that some double braided rope is easier to splice than other. Some is even sold with an "easy to splice" label.

The only other thing you need is some fids in the right size. I use the ones from Selma, which has a reputation of being very good: http://www.selma.no/sider/produkt.html
